Native food plants for people, wildlife, and biodiversity.
At Fern Hill Farm, we're proud to have over 90 acres of farmland, where we grow a variety of seasonal native plants. Originally the Phillips Family Farm, our farm is a Century Farm, and the 20th oldest farm in Smith County, TN. We use sustainable farming practices to ensure that our crops are minimally impactful on the environment. Our farm is a cooperative effort run by plant experts committed to environmental stewardship and community benefit.
Fern Hill Farm has a monthly herb subscription CSA with fresh and dried herbs. We specialize in native heirloom food plants for people and wildlife in the southeastern U.S., as well as production of native wildflower seed for biodiversity projects in the southeastern region.
At Fern Hill Farm, we believe in supporting our local community. We work closely with other farmers and producers to promote local agriculture and help increase biodiversity on working lands. We offer educational tours and workshops for schools and community groups to teach people about the importance of farming and where their food comes from. We promote the cooperative economic farming model, and support emerging farmers and coops.
